days been flying by.. it's already wednesday! :( lol... haha...
but it has been a fun-filled time i guess...
Friday was a nice girls' out with mel, phey yee and pamela..:) dinner at sahara (nice place to be staring down at passerbys along Swanston Street) and then desert at Crown.. :) 4 colourful cakes...so pretty...
Sat & Sun: Ju, Sam, Kuni, raymond were down from sydney on a roadtrip.... a 9 hrs drive? apparently they sped down the highway at 170km'hr.. .sighs... *GUYS*... :P i am so glad i wasnt in the car. They were persuading me to go back to sydney with them, and i was really tempted to just go there for a couple of days. guess i chickened out.. haha.. end of year perhaps...")
took them around...vic market, DFO (two days in the row cos the 1st day they were too tired to shop much), docklands, city, crown... they were a super lame bunch, and though i only knew ju before introduction, we cld chat and laughed lots"_ haha...
& these guys cld really eat a lot!!! went to yumcha at shark fin's on sat, and apparently they just had Mcdonalds for breakfast and were quite full. so we wanted something light. in the end, we ordered so much at sharkfin's!! cos we knew we cld count on Kuni to finish up the leftovers..LOL... he has this obsession abt "PORK!" .. haha.. everytime before a meal, deciding where to eat, he wld ask, "is there pork??" .. haha.. so our meals tht two days were "pork-filled".. haha... went to Camy's dumplings too, and they were so amazed tht the pork dumplings were so cheap they kept ordering plates after plates... plus 2 serves of noodles, pumkin cakes, red bean and taro pancake EACH... & we had more than 60 dumplings...LOL... i think i have ENOUGH OF PORK! haha..
& they mde me feel guilty cos they kept paying for all the meals!! my reaction needs to be faster.. cant beat them to it:( haha... thanks so much guys:)
and thanks to them, i did a bit of shopping too:) haha... supposed to be watching them shop, but in the end, i cldnt resist...LOL...
went to meet yiching and gezzel for shopping too... i was good tht day, but gezzel just blew like $200 plus at Espirit... haha.. :)
had lunch buffet at sante and lee,mark, kevin, chanyi, wilson, yan, ailynn:) it was so crowded and first time in my life i had to queue up so long for buffet..HAHA>.<>.<>
the food wasnt tht great, but i guess it is still rather value for money:) the sticky date pudding was nice too, can compete with Berth:)
my sis baked her brownies and muffins and though they were really tht successful, must give her credit for a novice:) maybe my standards were higher and i was really full after having the buffet PLUS kevin-wilson's tiramisu:) so sinful right?? **
wirawan's birthday surprise planned by jinsern. & i nearly made a BOOBOO again.. :( i want to count the no. of times i accidentally spoil a surprise without knowing..LOL... * keep mouth shut*..HAHA...
Gg to have a sleep-over at henry's placee... yays... sld be fun...playing with his newly-bought puppy, which is really cute, though i hope it's hair dont drop out all over me.. haha...
had dinner with pamela, phey yee and mel at Sahara, a bar-restaurant cafe along Swanston:) super cool setting with good view by the window. i can just imagine myself at midday, staring down at the ongoings and passer-bys in the streets, without them realising. i love staring, but it's only safe if pple arent aware right? hehe...:)

i realise the culture here and spore is so diff.
there are so many herbs and ingredients tht are used to commonly here yet i seldom come across them in spore:)
like fennel, red raddish, beetroot, butternut squash etc... all are really simple yet comfort food. throw them into the oven, roast them and they just are perfect side dishes:)
& bought a huge avocado today since they were in season. smashed them up, salt, pepper and mustard on bread, so yummy:)

i think i am slowly adapting to the aussies... LOL...
& i am craving muffins so badly these few days... HAHA...

HAPPY mooncake FESTIVAL!! :):) i miss lighting up all the lanterns in our garden and the firebombs we used to create. and the mooncakes we savour each year....

went to Taipan for yumcha...all the way to Doncaster.. thanks to henry.. :) i just love yumcha, esp outside the city. wide variety, bigger portions and of course taste nicer too:) count me in any time, any day for yumcha! haha..
went to do some shopping with Sam while waiting for Henry to cut his hair at Boxhill. it's really nice to just to be out of the city sometimes. it just feels different...
& Henry had this impulse of setting up a fish tank. so decided to head back to Vic market's pet shop. Sam followed and in the end, guess wat, he came out buying a dog instead. lol...!! from fish to dog... but the dog so cute right>>(thanks to sam for pictures) i am sure Christle was so surprised when he brought it home tht day... haha...
but i feel really bad today. Chanyi got fined for parking near Milano just to pass me the taro mochi... :( and she dented her mercs while reversing too... :( sorry :( so heartpain i am sure... tmr will be a better day i hope :)
this was on the letter they gave me after i passed my driving test! haha...
the atmosphere in the car was so tense. lol. plus the weather today was so hot, the sun was so glaring, i think my BP just shot up the roof. my face was super red and i feel so hot lol. haha.

i wonder how big the roast pig is this year.
my dad always orders twice annually ( the other time was during CNY, as in picture:) ), and it has become a family gathering like 2am in the morning just to indulge in roast pork after praying! apparently this time he ordered a HUGe one... haha... luckily we have a big extended family to spread the :pork: around.. LOL...
anyways, sighs, dont get to have mooncake this year :( last year my dad came over with boxes of durian, green tea, lotus etc!!! haha... we treated them like treasures, limited to no more than a small pieve a day.. lol.. lasted for months in the fridge.. haha... cos u dont get nice mooncakes here! or maybe i dont bother to try... :P
nvm, hopefully some kind soul will get their supply and offer me :) or somebody send a box over...!! QUICK!! haha... Lol...
emm... dont u think mooncakes are the only festive item u dont get the whole year round nowadays?? even pineapple tarts, dumplings, and other traditional festive goodies are sold like the whole year round... tht really diminishes the hype... mooncakes are special, they come out only during this time of the year, at least the GOOD ones.. :)
yet, some of the "5star" hotels have come up wit "weird" flavou
rs which i dont dare try... infused with "weird" liquers, or have u heard of "foie gras" mooncake?? yucks!!! just marketting to just charge u maybe $$88 for one piece, cos 8 is a lucky no. too.. lol...haha...
-- the simple ones are the BEST:) green tea and lotus still works for me of coz:) & all moncakes sld be snow skin, without yolk!! what's with the double yolk, or is there one with 4 yolks too??? haha. i guess everyone has diff. tastes..
