emm.. had a good weekend.. filled with nice company and food and ya, tht's why i feel guilty for not studying too... slacked the whole weekend away.
sunday :) i had a great yumcha session at Plume, which made a hole in my pocket though. first time i paid so much for yumcha but it was worth the trip all the way there too... we ate so much! even the deserts we ordered were more than one-to-one. haha...thanks to Chanyi for driving us to the restaurant (in her Mercs, was so surprised to see her driving tht big car, super pro. :) i wouldn't dare, wld have crashed it lol) and to kevin n wilson for waking up to satisfy my cravings even having slept at 5am the previous night! these two guys gossip too much la!! till 5am?? haha...
anyways, went to boxhill too before returning to the city and had a hard time finding a car park. but at least i had the nicest taro and almond mochi ever!!:) i sld have bought the peanut one as well! the outside was so soft and chewy while the inside paste was not overly sweet:) why is boxhill so far away?? *sobs... hehe...:)
night was family time:) henry took us to pacific hse at richmond since my dad was leaving today. had to queue for quite a while, the place is really popular, though i still wonder why... ya, its ironic cos i go there quite often too.. haha
n had steamboat yesterday for my dad's birthday!:) abalone, fish, prawns, beef, mushroom, cuttlefish, tofu, dumplings, noodles!! a feast, certainly!!:) haha... happy birthday dearest dad:) u are the best! cos he prepared all the food:)
but he went back today:( singapore says hi!!! time flies...
anyways, i sld really stop slacking away and start feeling at least a bit stressed abt my upcoming test on monday:( aighs...
been too obsessed abt finishing up my harry potter book too:( and reading too many blogs!! sighs!!
it's approaching week 7, nearly halfway to go!!!!!!
n the weather is much better these few days. hope it stays tht way so jacq can smile more:) mood changes like the weather, u see :P

Olympics: First medal in 48 years for Singapore
I cant help but feel proud of our achievement:) HAHA...
Though i think its lame our own table-tennis team consists of all foreign talent>> LOL...
A gold perhaps??
Btw, I think Phelps looks more and more like an ape....
Maybe i am just tired of seeing his face appearing everywhere!
:P no offence to those who thinks he's hot...
but wat's with drug suspicion everytime an athelete exceeds expectations???

it was really a badbad feeling to have three person in the car watching u...
........& i failed the test....... :(
Monday, August 11, 2008 @ 7:15 AM
finally first neuroscience test is over!
such a small MCQ test and i am fretting over it... sighs.. haha
anyways, HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY FRIDA...
thanks so much for dinner at PekoPeko:) she invited so many pple, we practially filled the whole place:) haha... it was really nice though...
picture whoring again... all the pictures with Mel:0 waiting for pictures soon:)
the food was decent but frida's cake triumphs it all ...huge:) haha. like wedding cake... cos there were so many white chocolate cones on top... pretty, but the cream was a bit too sweet... haha...
but the company was the BEST! "secrets" were on the adgenda too...funny ones!
besides, i saw on the menu: "hand shake ice coffee/ice chocolate", and the first thing on my mind was like "hand shake"?? then i realise how dumb tht question was... i was thinking the "shake-hand-type-of-hand-shake", instead of the "cocktail-type-of-hand-shake"...
then Jasper asked:
"wat mouse walks on two legs?" Melissa answered: "mickey mouse"
"wat duck walks on two legs?" she answered: "donald duck".. haha...but ALL DUCKS walk on two legs!
HAHA :)
the POINT IS: I COULDNt even answer the FIRST question abt the mouse.. LOL.. i answered: "THREE BLIND MICE??"
another sad thing was i was so BLUR again, and didnt know everyone was supposed to "dress up", and so, i was like underdressed compared to the rest:) they were all so pretty...even the guys dressed up lol...haha... :) this shows med pple are not all nerds right? hehe... *nodds head*
can i be a wet blanket and say since i was not in a dress, i was the warmest while the rest was shivering in the cold>> HAHA.. so mean!! LOL.. jkjk :P
anyways, thanks to Dora too for wishing me happy national day! lol. another national day spent away frm home :( i miss spore! how patriotic right? haha...
but i guess the Olympics opening was much better than our own national day parade right? but i fell asleep before the last part where they lit up the olympic torch. wasnt that supposed to be the highlight?? sadded... haha...

today has been so good:)
never did i expect all my plans to turn out so smoothly within a day. haha.
yumcha this morning at sharkfin's hse... cravings!
then we decided to try our luck:)
and i won the lottery tickets for the Wizard of Oz broadway musical! (from my last post u sld see how desperate i was to catch it)... haha. its considered lottery tickets but i still needed to pay for them. the point is they were FRONT ROW seats, right in the middle, directly behind the conductor LOL.. haha... seats no. AAA 27 & 28...
it was indeed just one of the best seats in the whole BIG theatre (was surprised at this weird hour the theatre was full house-1pm on a thursday)... we cld even see the actors' saliva "fountain-ing" everywhere as they worked their powerful vocals.. :)
so "WICKED:)"... overall, i still prefer phantom of the opera with its dramatic effects and fantastic songs, but this musical didnt let me down too:)
it was a happy happy ever after ending... cos its supposed to be the "untold" story of the wizard of Oz. the storyline was quite interesting, but its really a fairytale. haha. apparently the Wicked Witch of the West is actually good too, it was All just a misunderstanding... LOL.. haha...
anyways, after all tht ranting...
'WICKED, the spellbinding and spectacular hit musical, tells the untold story of the legendary witches from L. Frank Baum's classic, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
When Dorothy famously triumphed in Oz, we only ever heard one side of the story. Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, brings to life the captivating, surprising tale of how a misunderstood, green girl named Elphaba became ‘wicked’ but her unlikely friend, Glinda, became 'good'.
The exceptional creative team that has brought this captivating story to life on stage includes many of Broadway’s most celebrated creative talent. When WICKED opened on Broadway, it worked its magic on critics and audiences alike and won 15 major awards including the Grammy ® and three Tony ® Awards. Today WICKED is one of the most successful shows in theatre history.
"Broadway's biggest blockbuster" New York Times'and since i only had one lecture today... i had to skip it! haha.. I had no choice, in my defence.. hehe...but there is always lectopia:) the musical is indeed more worth it than an hour of cranial nerves lecture...LOL..but means i "wasted" the whole day from morning till now... when i have two tests and a driving test next week. sighs... still, jacq is so grateful today:)

cranial nerves cant be that hard????
SIGH!!!!!
but the only upside to all the memory work my brain is enduring at the moment, is that i just learnt a mnemonic tht surpasses all others... ! HAHA... lets just keep it btw me and the "others who know". haha. it's a bit X-rated to type it here. might can sued.. lol.
its really not that hard to remember all the cranial nerves afterall! haha. :)
someone tell me to slow down~! i keep exceeding the speed limit when i drive, its ridiculous! but 40km/hr is like tortoise! lol. i cant seem to be able to watch the road and the speedometer at the same time. the new BMW 7 series has this function where its warns u when u are above the speed limit. i think tht's just designed for pple like me. & i tot i was a safe driver... :) HAHA.

i totally believe now that i am just not "allowed" by a the "higher ups" to catch the broadway musical "WICKED"!
went down to the box-office yest. to try my luck at luck min tickets where they conduct a lucky draw for first row seats. and obviously i didn win. haha. but the point is that even if i had won the tickets, u have to pay for the tickets, not that it is free. but u just earn the right to walk through the entrance door. talk about "previlege". haha. lol. cos apparently all the tickets are FULLY SOLD out.
again, i went there this afternoon and apparently the draw was already conducted. i missed it again... there was supposed to be another one tonight before the show, and then when i went online to CHECK the timing just in case it was a repeat of afternoon's incident, AGAIN i realised the musical's timing was not as i originally thought. it was 2 hrs ago! WAT THE!!!!! :(((((( 3 "XXX" in a row... how i wish i was bowling...HAHA.
nvm.. i am laughing about it at the moment cos it's the first time i really believe perhaps "someone" up there having a good time everyday! can i have his/her job? hehe...:) LOL
anyways, celebrated Mark's birthday at "universal" today. just a simple lunch where we can meet and catch up:) a good excuse.. haha...
btw, i feel too free for my own good :P slack slack slack... must thanks ailynn for "waking" me up a bit...
random fact: everyone seems really excited abt the opening of the Beijing Olypmics... i am trying to soak up tht excitment... LOL>>
& i finally got the TV tunned to be able to receive channel 7!! YAYS... all the good shows are watchable now:) opps.........
