HOT HOT HOT!!! OMG. yesterday was the hottest day in melb. 36.4 degrees!!! plus the weather is so dry... made me lose my voice plus more ulcers... lol ;)

more gastroscopy and colonoscopy today. it's fun :P i just went to find the anaesthetist and asked if i cld tag along. did more drips and sedation. had propofol all over the nurse beside me cos the patient jerked suddenly and the syringe came out. haha. my fault** i think i overstep my boundaries sometimes, trying too hard to recruit patients and being a bit more persistance than i sld. but i guess i have to get things done even if some registars are nt pleased. sighs...& they say u cant please everyone. just hope my presence dont become a bother though. :( 3 patients for one morning.. yays:)

BUT it's britney's concert! after 4 months it's finally here. time flies, cos i bought the tickets the last time i was in spore-june???

maybe i sld own a private jet with my own hot pilot and so i dont have to depend on the travel agents and the availability of seats. :)
its alright. i get to go back singapore on the 23rd. but flying off to vegas on the 25th. coming back spore on the 10th dec (i think) and possibly fly back to melb with dex on the 12th dec for his competition and then back to spore on the 18th dec. and n FINALLY back to melb by the first week of jan 2010.. can u imagine?? another year is gg to fly past...
i am still reeling in shock . i sld just live my life in denial. .. HAHAHA..
on the brighter side, i had an awesome day yesterday:) i got to do clinical stuff. love being hands-on. got to tag along my supervisor to gastroscopy... he taught me how to sedate patients with propofol, make sure they were still breathing of coz, put in more drips and how to report back to the nurse. because the turnover was fast, the afternoon list had like 6 patients and so i got lots of opportunity to infuse drugs;) it was so awesome;) & i learnt lots of new stuff too.. though i screwed up and my face turned SUPER red when reny threw me all those questions i shld know the answer to but i obviously DIDNT!!!. i learnt how to differentiate different types of murmurs and the different sounds i sld hear. the patient was so patient and let me hear his heart for like 4-5times cos i cldnt get whether it was a systolic or diastolic murmur!! he said i owed him $20. he sure deserved more though. hahaha... i learnt tht the liver stores 500ml of blood and can store more if there is back pressure frm the right atrium. i just felt the afternoon was so well spent. :):) i got a superb supervisor:)

to make things better, the evening was spent ard food, more coffee, gossip magazines, groceries and nice company??? haha.. :)
realised so many movies i wanna watch soon:) no.1- new mooon!! then there is the christmas carol 3D movie, the time traveller's wife etc...
to end badly, today suxed.. cos i had no patients, was so sleepy & i didnt do anything useful.. i came back early to try to sleep but coincidentally my phone rang like 4 times and i finally decide to give up trying to sleep... haha..:)
but i cleaned the hse and ironed all my clothes in time for my dad to come tomorrow morning!!!!!!
my new skin is so pretty and kinda girly.... so unlike me... but still, i think it's really nice and simple;)
had a really nice monday. though didnt get any patients (nearly, but operation cancelled...as always>.<) Irene didnt have any registra with her in theatre and so i got to help her out the whole day:):):):) after doing a number of drips, i still feel really satisfied when i manage to get the needle into the patient's veins the 1st go. i am addicted to poking pple!! hahaha...saddist:0 & i got to intubate 3 patients today too!!!!!! haha.. i love clinical medicine. doing stuff, feeling useful, instead of sitting in lectures and tutes. but my brain is rotting from all the slacking.
i got to watch the new episode of autumn concerto at the hospital too. saves me from dlw at home which probably at the rate i am using, wld surpass our limit. haha.. RMH can block users frm using facebook, but i hope not youtube!!! LOL
night was dinner out. went to crown and tried the new sho noodle bar in the casino floor. & the haugow was so good;) i love HUGE prawn dumplings with thick skin!! hahaha... i had 3 out of the 4... lol. cos the other person is a smaller eater than me.... sad right?? sld come back for timsum on a sunday lunch for more choices:)
why am i awake at 2am... i slept at ard 11pm and i think i was dreaming of icecream and then i woke up and headed to the freezer. SIGHS!!! haha.. didnt i have ice cream at 10am(tea), then at 9pm(desert) and now 2am???? OMG!! now i know why i am breaking the scales:(
watched flare dance on friday:) seeing my friends on stage and dancing, twirling, jumping and twisting made me so envious... !! kim, beebee, kaishen, jack, hervey... all were awesome;)
had training yesterday for the teddy bear hospital community service thing phey yee n i participated in. Basically we set up a booth during a marathon run organised by the Moondora Hospital and while the men run, their little kids can sit with us and play doctor-doctor on teddy bears and we help them 'cure' the teddies..:)
and i blew nearly a $100 along lygon street shopping after visiting phey yee's new apartment lol... haha.. but i am happy:)
today was the real thing. thanks to raymond who drove us there or we wld have to wait for the train to ringwood in the freaking cold weather... plus thanks god it didnt rain today or it wld be a disaster. it was supposed to rain though. :) i was kinda overwhelmed by the little kids though. felt a bit weird trying to act cute in frnt of them. the first kid i got was SUPER shy, like she didnt want to say anyting. asked for her name and she whispered 'juma'... raymond tried to help out too... luckily. so together we banaged the elephant's eye and put stickers on her and the stuffed toy! lol. i felt kinda silly, but still, at least we got the job done. the 2nd, 3rd and 4th one were much better. the kids were so clever and responsive lol. of coz i made lame jokes i wldnt like to repeat but at least we cld see the kids were genuinely having fun and learning stuff like listening to their heartbeat. my heartbeat was loudest so i was the model. haha... & i learnt abt "dora the explorer" today..lol..i had a random sticker i sticked onto my jacket and the girl was like pointing to it. so i gave it to her. apparently it matched her tee-shirt too... she was like "dora, dora".... haha.. so cute:)
yes! and i invited myself to join py and her family at kamfook westfield for yumcha!!! OMG.. thanks so much!! i crave it so much:0 hahaha... i just love haugow..:):) satisfied. went back to city and met up with lay n janet... more food and shopping!! haha....
and i realised tht i caught a freaking hayfever frm this morning though. my eyes are teary and my nose is itchy...:(:( i dont wanna be sick!!! must be the gastly wind today!!

i got vaccinated agst swine flu today. & i didnt even know there was such a vaccine till my sis mentioned it and rach said RWH was offering it free. i just realised there wasnt any guys in the queue. are they nt allowed in the women's hospital?>.<>

- i wanna learn how to make coffee! go for a short course on how to use the coffee machine. since i am kinda addicted to coffee le. i just bought my 1st Large cup of cuppincino the other day for brunch. small is no longer enough. yet afterwards, i had this massive headache. wonder if it is the lack of sleep or the surge of caffeine. ;O
learning is nowadays multimodal...shall just youtube it:)
- i wanna learn ballroom dancing. ben was just inviting me to join with him but i think i will be so paiseh if there is a big group in the room. HAHA. i am shy u know.. >.< :) shall go for individual classes back in spore. but tht wld only happen next year since my hols this time wld be too short.. by then i prob find other things to do. ;P
- i wanna travel!!! so many places i wanna go again. sydney, india, paris, italy, japan, korea! once is never enough, esp when these countries have so much to offer. wldnt it fit just nicely if i studied political science and be a diplomat and get to travel all over the world?? haha... ahhhh... bliss:) but still, still keeping my fingers crossed for vegas this dec:)

but i am glad to say, no. 33 patient today:) everyone asks me how many patients i have left to go and i so i am sad to say i need another 47 patients before i conclude my project.
but.. slow and steady is the way to go. i know i am wasting most of my time at the hospital, talking to random pple and just buzzing around, but this is the only year i will get to laze and be free:) next year certainly wld be a killer!!
yup, just for my memory sake, i have been meeting up with my lovely friends almost everyday. i am not sure when was the last night i was home doing my own stuff... movie watching has been rather hot on my schedule too..thx to the meddies who invites me to watch movies back-to-back.. & i dont even join them all the time! haha.. :) the only show i am waiting to watch is 'love happens' and another with hugh grant in it.. of coz right?? :) i think there are a few others though. end of the year is always a good time for awesome movies.
with facebook, i guess i hardly bother to post up pictures anymore. and i realise i have the habit of leaving my camera at home and nt bothering to bring it along unless it is a big event. besides, i dont think i have made any new friends recently tht i do nt have a picture of them somewhere in my huge-ass collection of photos... :) someday i am gg to run out of space to keep all the pictures anyways.. but looking back at pictures is rather therapeutic too;) esp. when i feel nostalgic...
